Cricket’s American dream!

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced that Dallas, Miami, and New York will be the proud hosts of this USA based games, in the joint West Indies – USA hosted 2024 T20 world Cup.

HThis marks the first time the USA will host the T20 World Cup and Grand Prairie Stadium, situated in the heart of the Dallas￾Fort Worth metroplex, will play a major role in this global event, having already showcased its capabilities by hosting 12 matches in the inaugural season of Major League Cricket.

Geoff Allardice, ICC Chief Executive, expressed excitement about the strategic significance of the USA market, stating, “These venues give us an excellent opportunity to make a statement in the world’s biggest sport market.” Grand Prairie Stadium, with a permanent capacity exceeding 7,000, promises an elevated experience for fans during the T20 World Cup matches.

In addition to Grand Prairie, several other potential venues, including George Mason University and Prairie View Cricket Complex, are being considered for pre￾event matches and training, further amplifying the growth of cricket in the United States.

This monumental event is not only set to captivate over a billion fans worldwide but also promises to turbocharge the growth of cricket across the United States. Vijay Srinivasan, co-Founder of Major League Cricket, expressed enthusiasm, saying, “We’re excited to accelerate infrastructure developments that can be utilized by the ICC for World Cup training, pre-event matches, and tournament games – leaving a broad legacy for the sport in multiple locations nationwide.”
